FWIW, my piece of Nephthea-Nepthea-Nepthia is bright green under XM 20K MH lights, no actinics so

who says your xm 20K's aren't producing in the 420 nm range?

I'll second Carl - my 20k XM's are showing a much brighter green then my 10k Ushio's with actinic VHO's did before... Actually, it is so bright green that I had to move the piece to the side because it was distracting me from the other corals.

If anybody wants to try a piece, PM me - I am always interested in a trade.

Do I need to worry about my nepthea being toxic to other corals? IE How close can I place it to some Acros?

This GN is on the low side of toxicity. In my recollection, it has never bothered another coral though some others have bothered it. As Jake Perhson alluded, this may not be the coral described in Weimer's research.

Also, it is so hardy in our aquariums, we can't understand why it could be extinct or even threatened in the wild!

Perhaps it has morphed!

Mine is making contact with a frog spawn coral even as we speak. I see no harm being done to either critter.
