Hi I was just wondering what everybodys opinions are I have a 90 gallon reef tank and I want to set up a 40 gallon breeder next to it I was thinking of running the 40 gallon into my 90 gallon sump. Do you guys think it would be ok or just have a seperate sump for each tank?

Why not? I have a 75G inline with my 265G and love it.

I think it depends upon your intended use of the new tank.  If you wanted to quarantine frags you are purchasing, then I'd think you would want it completely separate.

My 75g to 30g frag into 50g sump. I'd recommend it!

Let's you share the skimmer, heater, controller and sump. Dose the sump and both get taken care of. The only issue is sharing disease if it sneaks in on you.

Additional lighting and more flow (if needed) are the only other equipment items I use on my 75G inline. Everything else is kept in the (single) sump.

To clarify, I have one large return pump for the entire system. I have added a MP40 on the 75G tank and two MP60's on the main display.

I use one return pump... It flows 75 to frag to sump then the one pump back to display.
