So I'm becoming fed up with frag plugs... Anybody know a good way to cut off the pegs on the square ones without destroying everything on the plug and a clean way to cut the round ones? Any tips would be useful. Sometimes trying to remove the coral from the plug ends up breaking the coral.

I've always cut the "stem" off using a pair of dikes.

Dikes work if you have the grip to be able to squeeze them hard. The square pegs are really hard to cut that way. I bought a small diamond wheel for my Dremel (at harbor freight) and I use that to cut the stem and then shape the rest of the plug into something that looks rock like. Works great and is quick.

Dremel would work also. However, I've never had a problem using a pair of dikes. Maybe I just don't know my own strength!

use a dremel with a cutting wheel.  BUT use safety glasses because the dust/small pieces will fly and get in your eyes.  But they cut the ceramic they are made of easily.

Those square ones are hard to cut. I had a frag shoot off and hit the ceiling one time!  I've used a dremel ever since.

I actually bought the dremel for that reason and have ended up using it a hundred times for different things. Handy tool to have around.

Maybe I'm crazy haha I take a screw driver and very gently pop the coral off the plug. That is if it applies because I can't do that with every one

some plugs will pop off easily.  If they don't here comes Mr Dremel!!!

If you go to buy a dremel, do not get the cheap model, get one with the variable speed on it.  A dremel is excellent for cutting plexiglass, plastic, almost anything you need to cut.  The speed adjustment is awesome so you can adjust the speed to what you are cutting.
