 Topic: questions on 180 tank

Ok so this next question is for all of you people that have a tank that is large like 180 or bigger. What do you wish you would have done differently... I mean down to the plumbing. Just getting ready to get this thing up and going and just wondered what people wish they could have or should have done different.

The only thing I would've done differently is gone to a 210 or bigger lol. Really the plumbing on them is pretty straightforward. I would be sure to use union fittings to make sure your pump is easily disconnected for cleaning. Also put a ball valve on each return so you have the option of tuning how much flow each one gives off, and shutting off backflow when you need to remove your pump. Run as big of a fuge and skimmer as you can fit, and really that's all I'd recommend.

I'm assuming on an external pump... If you're using a submersible you should be fine.

The only thing that I wish I could have done when I had my 180 was to have it plumbed through a wall or floor with a huge sump. Not that my smallish sump was ever a problem, but it would be easier to work with a big sump in a different room and less noise around the display.
I don't think I would want a 210. I liked the 180 because it was easy to reach to every corner. If I was to go bigger than 180, I think I would want it deeper, not taller.
