I am thinking about adding a Jebao wp 60 to my 220. It is a 6' x 24"x 30" tank. I have 3 mp 40's in there right now and all run at about 90% right now. I was thinking that I would put 2 of the 40's on one side and the wp 60 on the other side.
I have a few LPS in the tank and a lot of SpS.
Do you think it would be too much flow for the tank?

I think the WP60's are too strong on the lowest setting in my 8 foot tank. I wish I had got the WP40's. I'm going to get rid of mine and get MP60's down the road.
You'll see what I mean when you come to my home next week.
the Vortech pumps will run off of my apex. I was thinking of leaving the Jebao on the jebao contrller at first. I have seen that it is not that hard to set it up on for the apex.
Yeah I was thinking that I would be able to turn them all down to get better life out of all the pumps.

Dang I though you had mp60's already.

This is what I did so of course you should too. keep a mp 40 on each side. Add a wp25 next to the mp40. Then run two wp25 in the back right and left corners for the back of the tank. I ran wp10s on the back of mine but your tank is deeper front to back. WP's set on full wave mode. MP40s set on random or wave. Your preference. I run my right mp40 on wave and my left on random. Both on full power. I have a nice wave going and other random flow with it.

Why so many pumps? I've got two MP60's on our 265 running around 65% which is plenty of flow throughout the entire tank. I will adjust them up to full power from time to time when blowing at the rocks and such.

A government strong enough to give you everything you want, is powerful enough to take everything you have.
It's possible that your idea of plenty of flow and mine are different?
Two MP40's at full power provide no where near the flow that I wanted in my tank. The WP's are small and not intrusive. Great supplemental flow/wave action. The MP's have a much wider flow pattern to compliment the WP's.

That is a little bit of my problem right now. If I turn the 3 mp 40's up to 100% they are not doing a very good job of blowing off the rocks. I do have a lot of rock in my system and that does seem to break up the flow. The 3 40's just don't seem to have enough flow to really blow the rocks off. Right now I need to blow all my rock off with a baster a couple times a week and I do seem to have some pretty big low flow spots. I'm hoping that adding the wp 60 to one side of the tank and the 2 mp40's to the other side I will have the same type of flow as 2 60's.
