Just a curiosity question.  When your shrimp molts what do you do with the shell?  I've been removing mine.  Is this a good thing seeing it could up the ammonia level if left in there.

I've asked this before and basically it doesn't matter either way. It's mostly calcium and it'll eventually break down and return to the system. On the other hand it's kind've ugly and they tend to put them in plain sight.

I have never removed them from my 90 gallon. Never been a problem and mine molts at least every couple of months.

My shrimp molts are usually gone in about a day. I figure it gives the hermits something to snack on.

Maybe that's my problem I don't have any hermits to snack on it.  I was told the CBS would eat them.  Maybe I'll find some that are cheap and see if it's true.

So the first time I posted this my CBS had molted about a day earlier.  She molted again last night.  Is this normal to molt this often?

How often they molt depends on how fast they are growing, I wouldn't worry too much.
