I'm setting up a 93 gallon cube, and I want to paint the back. Is it best to use spray cans or a roller, and what type of paint?

I would suggest black vinyl.

regional supply sells a black vinyl like sheet that you can apply and it looks AWESOME after.  Pilot_172 used it on his tank and I love it. However, I have always just used car tint. They sell static cling style at Walmart and most parts stores. I like it because it can be easily removed if you dislike it.

With that said, I used Krylon spray paint on my current tank and it has held up perfectly

doesn't krylon fusion only come in a rattle can?

I like the idea of tint or vinyl, but I'm worried about making it look perfect.

I used the mirrored window tint from Home depot. Looks cool till it covers with coral line.

the black vinyl is actually very easy. I have some left over from my tank. what are the dimensions of your cube?you just need soapy water and a credit card or some kind of squeegee

I used water based acrilic paint from the craft store. Water can remove it which sucks.

Again... Black vinyl. Clean your glass then soak the glass with a spray bottle (no soap). Start on one side pushing the water and any bubbles out the edges with a credit card. Two people is highly recommended. My son and I applied this to our 265G and 75G. They turned out great!

I got some black vinyl from The Aquarium. It was inexpensive. I have never installed tint/vinyl before. A little soap water and a credit card and it was perfect.
