Hey guys I just have a quick question. I've got a 40 breeder I've once used for a QT tank and I was considering selling it. I did however treat it with copper.

I know you're not suppose to use a tank treated with coper when considering growing coral in it but what about fresh water. Is it FW safe?

Thanks!

Micah

They would be perfectly safe for any kind of aquarium. The copper in beds into the sand and the rock and not so much the tank it self.

The miniscule amount of copper on the surfaces is not a problem. It's copper that sticks to the sand and rock that creates problems.

Ok good, I thought once a tank had copper in it, it was doomed to a life of a QT tank.

Thanks guys!
