What is this?  Favia or Acan or what?

Thanks Jared! It was sold to me as a favia...I didn't think that was what it was, however, I'm going to upset it and post up when it is closed and see what you think.

it looks to be an acan lord to me too. acan lords have individual polyps, at least they appear that way. they are more fleshy. an acan acanada is less fleshy and shares the joints between polyps, looks more like a favia.

they are both easy to frag once you know what you are doing. it is most important to keep them cool and moist. i take a bowl of water and set it on the table. then i use the dremel to cut the back as much as i can. if it is too deep i use the dremel on the front too. if it is thin enough you should be able to use the dremel on the back, and razor blade on the front. you can cut through heads so dont worry about that too much. just keep dipping the coral every couple seconds to cool it off and clean it. if you need a demo i can help you out with it, i've done a ton of them, and done a few demo days in my old club in oregon.
