The presentation on the DIY kalk reactor at last weeks meeting was excellent. Anyone want to give me a pointer on where to find pickling lime locally. I stopped by a harmons last night with no luck.

I got mine at wal-mart. It might be hard to find right now because of the season.

This was spoken of in another thread just since the meeting. It was posted that it's available in a large bag at HD for just a few bucks. I'm not sure I would trust that products purity. I bought mine at The Chem Shop in Centerville. They even gave it to me in a snazzy resealable bucket. The Chem Shop is just up the street from MSM so you can hit two places at once and if you feel like seeing a totally home grown reef aquarium with a giant clam, 7 - month old baby Tomato Clowns and 6 young Percula clowns (all born and raised locally), give me a call and come visit since I'm less than 4 minutes from MSM on the other side of the Centerville freeway exit.

I am picking up a back of calcium oxide from Univar next Monday. It is a 50 lbs bag so I will have plenty to share, it is the Mississippi Quicklime that is used by a few people from Reef Central. Let me know and I can give a few pounds to ya.

Yeah they sold me just one bag it was $37 comes out to $.75 a pound. The lady I talked to said they have a shippment that comes in every Friday from LA and that they would load a bag on there for me. I am sure if it was ordered in bulk it would be cheaper. I have been curious if it makes much difference over the calcium hydroxide.
