I'm making an attempt to pair up some clowns, and try my hand at clownfish rearing. Went down to A Reef Oasis yesterday and picked up a Morse Code Maroon to pair with my Lightning Maroon "McQueen". What an great hobbyist store! I could stay there all day.   Anyhow, here is a picture of the clowns in their current set up:

Still haven't thought of a name for the female, but she's safely tucked away in an acclimation box until they learn to play nice.

We have them set up in a 10 gallon breeding tank that is tied in to the main display tank's sump.   For anyone that has seen our setup, the sump and frag tank are tucked away into a maintenance closet behind.

Last night, I started to wire up some hillbilly-style LEDs to mount above the "love shack". If you notice, we scrapped an old computer tower and took the casing off of a CD drive, and some heat sinks off of the internal components. Now just need to wire up the drivers and get them hung.

Well, Youngone has been busy. But we isolated them and the morse code finally got in with the flash. The morse code roughed the flash up so I separated them again. We added sand and rock to give them a place to hide and avoid the fighting. Last Thursday I just opened the isolation box and they have been in together since then. No apparent fighting but they both are handing out as far away from each other as possible.

I'm beginning to wonder if they will ever mate up. More to come if things change.

White stripe maroons are one of the most difficult types of clowns to pair. Give em time, And keep a close eye on them. I think they still have a great chance of paring off!
