I'm always wanting to know what changes I make to my tank. So I wrote a webpage that acts as a blog/journal where you can enter in whatever you want. I use mine to track when I do water changes, add phyto, add fish, etc.. That way I can start to see trends. I'm not sure if it works 100% but it you find problems with it let me know. I'm almost done making a page where you can track how much you have spent or are spending on your tank(although this may be painful). I'll post a link as soon as it's done.

Here is the link where you can keep track:

I've always kept a tank log in an Excel spreadsheet. I have columns for the date, time, Temp, salinity, pH, Orp, Ca, ALk, NO3, PO4 and waterchanges.

I'll have to take a look at what you've done once I get my home computer going again. The motherboard in my home computer got zapped in the 3 or 4 power outages we had in Ogden last week, so I'll be spending my weekend fixing my computer.

I used to do this. However it took up WAY to much memory so I gave up.

Yeah,  Dion. Sometimes I wonder why I still do it. My parameters never vary much from what my "baseline" values are anyway.  I think it's a good idea for those new to the hobby to keep a log for a while to get a feel for what is going on in their tanks.

I agree that it is good to log things to a point.  After a while though it becomes more of a hassle, and if it isn't fun I don't want to do it.  About the only things I check regularly are calcium and alk anyways.  I do check salinity when doing a water change, and I watch the temp too.  I seldom test anything else, so there isn't much to log anyways.  I guess logging feeding would be good if things went south, but there is no way I am going to start logging that much.
