I've heard that some people have been able to keep Huma Humas in their reef tanks without problem. Have any of you tride this and if so how have the results been?

I think the blue jaw or the niger would be a better choice...but I'm a newbie.

My Huma Huma nips at everything I put in the tank, except the lion!  I would not try a Huma Huma.  Nigers are beautiful and some people have them in their reef tanks.

Triggers eat crustations and Urchins. Hermit crabs and shrimp are crustations. When these are all eaten, Triggers turn to eating anything else, such as the good LR and LS organisms that filter the water and eat algae before it gets out of control. This is why very few people keep Triggers in a reef tank. And few of those reef tanks last long as reef tanks but become fish only tanks or death traps, as I'm sure Reefobsessed will agree from her own recent experience.

Triggers are beautiful fish and I have seen a several in reef tanks. Not a Huma Huma, however. The three that come to mind, are Pink Tail, Blue Jaw and Niger - in that order. You may have better luck buying a small one that hasn't picked up too many bad behaviors yet, but there will still always be some risk. I am considering a blue jaw, but have made uop my mind yet.
