Can I use any DE socket for a 70w MH as long as its a MH socket does the watts mater? Can I use a 150.175,250,or 400? This may be a stupid ? but can I use a haligine socket?

The socket design must match the lamp end piece design. Wattage does not matter. I don't know for sure, but I would guess that halogen light sockets do not match the design of the MH bulbs. The manufaturers would not want people accidentally placing the wrong bulb in a socket.Dead
