I have a project with a 24 gallon JBJ, It has been running for 3 weeks., My question is; What is the biggest return pump i can use besides the MJ 1200, 296 gallons per hour GPH... "Doesnt cut it for me".

I would leave the return pump as is and place a "Poormans Wavemaker" inside the tank itself. Increasing water flow is important but, for several reasons, it is unnecessary and inefficient to send it through the overflow and sump area. The Poormans Wavemaker is so named because it is inexpensive. It is very efficient at alternating flow. Any size Maxijet will work. The size selected depends on the size of the tank. I will agree with Mark.  Rather than try to put lots of flow through the sump area, add some extra flow to the tank.  You could add a Korilla nano to he tank and hid it in the rocks and double your flow.....

I added a ZooMed Power Sweep powerhead to my JBJ 28 G. I like the sweeping motion of the outlet. It moves the current around the tank so your not limited to the direction the power head is pointed.
