I have what I believe to be a euroreef rs5-3. Up until just recently it has been awesome. Then I started noticing other peoples skimmers. They are silent!!! Now I wouldnt call mine loud. I can still watch tv in the same room without problems. But when i dont have anything else going on I can really hear it. I know the new ones come with an adjustable air intake. Can I just buy that and add it? What about something just diy? Any help would be appreciated and Thank you in advance.

Is the noise coming from the venturi hose sucking air, or the pump?

My ASM was really loud so I made a silencer for it. Here is the post on how to make one on the cheap:
