I picked up an aquacontroller 2 in the hopes that I could have a pretty cheap controller to get me by while I save my pennies for an apex.

I have the base unit and the 3 probes (although I'll probably have to replace a couple of them)  In looking around, it looks like I'm going to have to spend quite a bit to pick up either a DC8 or a bunch of X-10 modules in order to be able to actually control anything.

Does anybody that has (or had) an AC2 have any tips?

What did you want to do with it? If you did end up getting an EB8 you would be able to use it with your future apex.

Talk to bstuver and see if you can get some X-10's from her. I would certainly invest in a DC-8 though, and yes, as mentioned it will work with the Apex. I'm not too sure if an EB-8 will work with the AC II though.

I'm actually debating on selling my aquacontroller 2, The only thing I pay any attention to is the thermometer reading and it won't be able to control my LED's that I am getting as they have their own controller...

The biggest thing I'd like a controller for is to be able to remotely monitor how things are going and for logging readings.

I'd also like to be able to use it to dim my LEDs as well, so I've been reading up on doing that with the older hardware.
