I personally like a slower flow through my sump. Give the naturally filtration time to do it's job :) I wouldn't go anything over 700gph, and even then I'd put a ball valve on it so you can control the flow at any time.

A 1600 gh pump with only a foot and a half of head pressure (so prob still 1300+ gph) is going to empty your 20g sump in less than a minute, then overwhelm your overflow... and then flood your home.

The other question is what is your overflow rated for?

I think she put up earlier that the overflow is for 600 gph max

I would totally use those pumps.  In your size tank I'd go with the 500.
