I need to drill a 29gal i thought was acrylic..but think now its glass.  It's a aquapod

Acrylic is easy. you can do it with a wood hole saw. Just take it slow and don't push, but don't go so slow you melt it back into the cut.

I think cutting acrylic fast produces a smoother cut you can easily cool it down with water as your cutting.

What size hole would be recommended. I want the hole towards the top so it will flow into a sump next to it. Also is there a way to do it with out having to completely drain the tank?

Well I found out my tank is glass.  It is a aquapod 24 gal tank.  Anyone have experience in drilling glass?  I want to put a 1" bulkhead in the side of the tank.

I've taken several tanks to Aquatic Dreams for drilling with no problems. Not sure who does it near you though.
