posted once allready, but it disappeared? check out http://www.melevsreef.com/acrylics/overflow.htmlfor plans on how to build a good one, also run a airline into the top of the overflow and to the airline fitting on a powerhead to keep airbubbles from forming. it also might have the ability to restart the prime in the event of a power outage.

Yeah, I saw that... but I think making it out of elbows and pipes (heck, even flexible hoses) would be a lot easier for me to mess around with than acrylic, you know?
I guess I'm more after unforeseen pros and cons of doing it with acrylic-- if anyone has.

Sounds like a great deal to me. I'd go for " OR you can trade me my drill bits back.LOL". You can't beat that price anywhere.

Trey:
oh snap! Yeah let me find that! Crap!
jeffras:
Not exactly. :) Rather than getting together a bunch of small pieces of acrylic and putting them together, or rather than buying an over flow box, I was thinking about putting together an overflow box out of pvc.
That's all. Wondering if anyone else had done it.

I have made many overflows using a Lee's Specimin box, the kind of box the LFS use to put the fish in after they catch it for you. I have plans and a pic that I can email to you if interested. Just send me your request [email protected]
