QuoteReplyTopic: getting numbers on dosing kalkwasser Posted: December 25 2006 at 3:49pm
I've looked at trying to gage how much does dosing saturated limewater raise Ca and Alk in order to set up a dosing/maintenance scheme and I didnt get much info . Maybe its been discussed before but I just scribbled some numbers and got the following:
Amount by which Ca (in ppm) is raised by dosing Saturated Limewater =
(800*gallons of limewater dosed)/(tank volume)
Amount by which KH is raised in meq/l = (the above number obtained for calcium)/20
The assumptions are that 1 liter of saturated limewater has 800ppm of Ca and that Ca and Alk are in the rattio of 20:1 in limewater.
