Do they bring in uncured LR? I love the stuff. I used to periodically place a piece or two in my system to let it recover and thrive in good quality water so that anything that could survive, would survive. I found all kinds and colors of Sponge, Algae and bugs that I had never seen before. All of that added to the diversity and stability of my system.

I'm a little different than some hobbyists. I prefer the diversity of life on the rock over the shape of the rock. I then insert that lively LR into an interesting aquascape. Over the years I have also found interesting looking pieces of Utah Rock. For example, the pic below shows what I called my amphitheater piece. It looked like a large boulder on the ground but it moved when I kicked it. It was like a punch bowl sitting upside down on the ground.
I "give away" Utah Rock (and Utah Oolitic Sand) for $0.50/lb.
