Well I got a seachem iodine/iodide test kit as I have been more closely monitoring my parameters.  When I tested it, the results were shocking...000000.  I have also been working on raising/maintaining my other parameters.  What is the best way to get this back into the correct levels?

Alk 9
Cal 450
Mag 1100
Iodine 0

Before you get too worried, I would have it tested by another hobbyist or by an LFS.
I is very hard to read.
Second, are you adding any supplement that contains I?
Third, what coral are in this 46 gal tank?

The test should change the water color to a shade of blue.  It did not change at all, so I tested using the control solution, and it changed to a nice shade of blue.  That is what drives me to the fact that it is extremely low.

I am not dosing it at the moment for iodine/iodide.  The tank is lightly/medium stocked atm.

small frags:
birds nest
blue tipped acro
tri-color acro
orange monti digi
green monti - crazy...
green monti spong
4 missing mushrooms
zoanthids

medium frags:
superman monti (encrusting)
candy cane 2 head
favites

Larger:
lots and lots of coralline algae
green palys
blade gorgonian
candelabra gorgonian
sliver gorgonian
Derasa clam 3-4"
yellow sponge
yellow ball sponge
orange fan sponge

... I use the aquavitro kind, I think it was dion that said it was medical grade iodide..

But also the iodide is supposed to be measured like 6-12 hours after dosing iodide to get a correct reading. So if your not adding any maybe add a little then test and see where you are.... what salt are you using? And how often/volume for a water change

I am using Instant Ocean and recently have been making 3 gallon water changes every week for the past month or so.  Prior to that it was months between water changes.

Yep, I agree with you. Looks like I is needed. Aquavitro sounds good.

are you seeing better results in your tank since the more frequent water changes?

I don't know if it was that or fixing the low level of Alk, Cal, and Mg or the more phyto and such I have been feeding or my 10 month old bulb I replaced.  But things are looking much better.  I should start up a photo thread for my tank.
