Haven't herd too many good things about them, although I herd better things about their curve or cone model. One problem is the no name pump that comes with them.
The time we enjoy wasting isn't wasted time!!!!

I have a curve 7 and its awesome I would totally recommend a curve model. Mine didn't come with a cheap no name pump either.

The bubble magus skimmers are a great cheap affordable skimmer. Their real only draw back is the pump they use. Sea side aquatics uses a bubble magus body with a Sicce pump (much better pump) its not much more and you get a quality pump. Check put this thread.

We have sold around 40 of their skimmers over the last year and around 20 the year before, only a few have had the upgraded pumps as described. NON of the cheaper pumps have failed or caused any problems so far.

However we have two customers who have purchased other skimmers with red dragon pumps and both of those now over heat and shut off within 6-9 months of purchase.

My consensus is buy the cheaper one and "IF" you have a problem, then upgrade the pump.(after the warrantee expires)

Again just my opinion from my limited experience. Either way you are looking in the correct direction, and away from coralife and asm. (Both of which may have been good "in their time")

Oh, also the last 10 or so skimmers we brought in have had a new "redesigned or improved" pump. It seems they took the article to heart and made some modifications.

For the last couple months I've been happy with my curve 9 that I got from The Aquarium.
