so I bought this fixture off of amazon.

CREE LED 72 watt DIMMABLE Reef Aquarium light Model XPG R5/XPE = 250MH

love it but two of the blue led's are off color and they are on one side of the tank. I've already contacted the seller and he was supposed to send me a return label and hasnt. I've filed a claim through amazon and still havent gotten anything back yet.

Im wondering if I should try and order some replacement LED's (I just have to make sure they are the same specs) and replace them myself. I've never done diy led so im not sure how hard it would be to solder them?

or should I just be patient and wait for the seller to contact me if he ever does or just leave it and have one side of the tank look a little green.

Dont mess with it. If you do, there's no chance to send it back. The slight color different may not hurt it too much. They probably used LEDs from different bins which will have different output.

Yeah, if you have a claim on it I'd not mess with it.  Once you have it resolved and if they don't change the fixture out we can probably remove one and change it to the other side to make it appear balanced.  I'd really need to look at it to be certain.  Might be able to change the off color ones to something else that matches or to UV.

Thanks for the good advice. I'll hang tight then. Its going on two weeks now with no return label and Im not hearing anything back from the seller. I'm getting impatient lol.

I've got a friend in the state department that works with stuff like this. I'll give him a call and see what he recommends. If nothing else he could probably look into the seller for you and get you a return label and refund.
