Are all of you using the stock skimmer? If not what have u upgraded to? And if so how did u get the darn thing dialed in!? I have tried adjusting it every way to Sunday with no luck it just overflows the cup and fills it up in like 10 seconds. I have a bio load in my tank and its fully cycled so it should be able to break in fairly quick and hasn't. Thanks in advance for the help.

Do the following....

Lower the sump water level to the third or fourth mark down on the side level viewer
Disconnect the airline from the skimmer valve and replace it with your own twist valve of sorts
Cut the top off the skimmer neck (the cover thing that is above the actual neck)

I know that BrentD uses the stock skimmer and has stunning growth, colors, parameters. No issues. Maybe message him and see if he can help too.

Ann_A, I ended up lowering the water level, pulled the entire skimmer out and thoroughly cleaned it, cut the top off like u said and lo and behold the darn thing is skimming like a champ! Thanks for the advice!
