So it seems we have a few Apex users here and was thinking it would be nice to know what settings people use. I was wondering what basic, simple, cool, unique, exciting, or must have settings you have in your config?

If you are doing something you like then please share.

Here are a few that I do

Skimmer
Set ON
Fallback ON
If Outlet Return_Pump = OFF Then OFF
Defer 005:00 Then ON
If Temp > 82.0 Then OFF

This way I have about 5 minutes for the water to level out in my sump before the skimmer comes on .

Sump light.
Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Time 22:00 to 09:00 Then ON
If FeedC 000 Then ON
If Outlet Return_Pump = OFF Then ON

Any time my main pump is off it will turn the light on.  If you turn off your main pump your are going to want to see what is going on.

I also have storm setting that will change lighting and mp40's for the storm.  Other things that are fun is to have a setting so that you can turn your blues way up to show off your corals when people come over. lol

Heater -

Fallback OFF
If Temp < 76.4 Then ON
If Temp > 77.5 Then OFF
If Switch3 OPEN Then OFF
Defer 001:00 Then OFF

If our low sump switch is triggered we turn off the heater.

Koralia's
I have 5 Koralia's in my tank, 3 are smaller and run all the time.  I have two magnum's that run on offsets (and at different ends of 6 foot tank). One is on for 30 seconds while the other is off.  I also turn those off at night so its a bit more peaceful for the fish.  They love the mags.  It also means they swim all over the tank, they go from mag to mag to surf.

Fallback ON
OSC 000:00/000:30/000:30 Then ON
If Time 22:59 to 09:30 Then OFF
If FeedA 005 Then OFF

Sump Fan
Always runs with sump lights on.  Will turn on if temp gets up there.

Fallback ON
Set OFF
If Time 22:00 to 06:00 Then ON
If Temp > 80.0 Then ON
Min Time 002:00 Then OFF

The rest are pretty standard.  I do have water on floor sensors but they need to be repositioned.  I have I have a sump high and low and I have another switch to add if the main tank is high so it turns off the pump, I just need to add that.  When I add my Ozone I will configure ORP.  I am also planning on adding a webcam.  I would like to see about adding the conductivity module at some point and maybe another temp sensor for the actual tank.

The only issue I seem to have with my Apex is the email jams up.  Not sure if it's an issue with my router or not.  Email only seems to work if my house power goes out or I have to reset my router for a bit.  That part sucks, I wish email worked better.  Anyone have this issue?

Awesome idea! What switch are you using? I'll add this to my RO and water change barrels too as I have heaters in there since they are in the garage. RO is kept real low just to keep from freezing but a switch like this is great, just in case.

I don't have the problem but I'll look. Blankout or makeup false info and post what you have in the config for you e-mail alerts and alarms.

I have the Apex I/O module and I used the Digital Aquatics float kit.  I just cut off the ends and hooked to the I/O module.

I need to do some troubleshooting with my email.  I think its something with my router and the Apex.

If Time > 08:15       Then LT1 ON

If Time > 23:00       Then LT1 OFF

If Time > 14:00       Then LT2 ON

If Time > 22:30       Then LT2 OFF

If Temp  > 81.5      Then LT2 OFF

If Temp  > 80.0      Then FAN1 ON

If Temp  < 79.9       Then FAN1 OFF

If Temp  < 76.5      Then HET ON

If Temp  > 77.0      Then HET OFF

If Time > 10:00       Then ALK ON

If Time > 10:30       Then ALK OFF

If pH    > 08.40       Then ALK OFF

If Time > 16:30       Then CAL ON

If Time > 16:35       Then CAL OFF

If Time > 20:00       Then MAG ON

If Time > 20:10       Then MAG OFF

My issue is always heat.  Basically if my temp starts to creep up to 80, my fans kick on in the sump.  That usually holds at around 80.5 until the lights go out.  Personally, I don't like my temp above 81.5, so when it hits 81.5, my Hallides shut off.

Me too.  I ordered the WXM module for my new build and would love to see how people are doing it.

I try to ramp up my settings during the day and then down again in the evening and during the night. Reefcrest mode seems to offer the most rapid and random flow but I like to mix in the other modes.

lol-The RC75 is? That's the one that made me wonder if the others were 100%.

That's some secret code you got there. Wink Good idea, with the NSA reading everything you should keep them guessing when we can.
