Does anyone know where I can buy a retro fixture for a 250 W HQI MH bulb?  Hopefully it would include the reflector, socket, and glass.  So far I have been to www.customaquatic.com, www.hellolights.com, and www.championlighting.com and I cannot find them.  Thanks in advance!

reefgeek.com has the sockets http://www.reefgeek.com/products/category_indexes/1-15_light ing_diy_-_mh_accessories.html

innovative lighting has a whole setup -- http://www.innovativelights.com/diy_retrokits/DIY_Retrokits_ 30.html the picture does not match. you could give princeton at innovative lighting a call with any questions though. he is a real nice guy and is great for support.

That package from innovative is way more than I need.  I'll have to give them a call and see if they can slim it up for me.  Thanks!

I think the best option is the Sunlight Supply Reef Optics III+ pendant.  Custom Aquatic does carry them for $98 but they are backordered.  Sunlight Supply also lists Aquatica as a retailer.  Reefgeek has it for $99:

And they do have the pendant by itself for $110 on that innovative site...

I have 3 ROIII pendants, and they work great! They are very good reflectors. I got mine at www.premiumaquatics.com for $99.95 each.

Marcus, I was also looking for the same thing.  It seems that it can't be had for less that $100.  (99.95 is not less than a hundred dollars in my wallet.)

Anyway, you've seen my setup.  A mogul reflector with the ends installed in it rather than the mogul socket.  I now have it up and running without a UV shield.  It has been running 5 hours daily for 2 weeks now and I have not seen any adverse effects on my corals.  My mushrooms are growing out of control and my leathers and LPS also seem fine with it.  Also my Xenia and my Rock Anemone have also put on considerable weight in those 2 weeks.

If you find something I have missed in my search, please let me know about it.

In my search I found nothing but pendants.  It almost seems like they don't want to sell a true retro kit.  They just want more $$$ all the time.  I got so frustrated in my search I finally gave up.

I'm looking at the http://www.reefgeek.com/products/categories/lighting/104278. html pendant and am wondering if these will take any HQI bulb or just a certain brand? I may get some if they don't force me into buying just one brand of bulb.

You'll need a bigger boat.
