I found a deal on ebay for 12k 175 mh bulbs for around 40.00. Has anyone used 12k? Does anyone think that these are inferior

I went on ebay and looked up the bulbs you were talking about. I am assuming that the seller is aquariumlights? If so this seller is also known as www.petsupplyliquidator.com . As far as their cheep bulbs I would strongly recommend that you don't buy them.

I posted near the end stating that I liked my bulbs. Since then they have burned out. Took about 5 months for mine to go.   

If I were you I would try cheep bulbs else where such as www.hellolights.com, www.diyreef.com or www.oceanencounter.com

Kevin, Those were the bulbs I was talking about. Thanks for the info. Sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes you are just paying for a name brand. I think I will aviod these bulbs.
What about 12k in general? I know allot of people are running the 20k.

Bruce - I don't know if AtoT lamps(an ebay store) has 12k lamps, but I've had great luck ordering from them in the past.  I've gotten Ushio 10k bulbs for around $60 from them.
