Only problem (that I know of) is the carbon tumbling in the reactor, which will lead to dust.

Don't do it. AC dust creates issues for all reef animals.

I use carbon in a reactor, I just simply put foam pads to hold it securely in place to ensure it doesn't tumble. No problems at all.

I'm with Dennis - been using carbon in a reactor for over a decade. perfectly safe; just use the foam pad to keep it from tumbling.

10 X more efficient use of the material than in a bag

Brs just put out a video on their YouTube channel on this very subject. They show the effectiveness of the different types of AC as well as their effectiveness in a reactor or a bag. I'll see if I can find a link.
