they look like palm trees and are soft like xenia.

Its hard to tell from the picture, but if I were to take a quick guess at it I would say brown star polyps.  Does it grow on a soft mat or is it single polyps or is it on a hard base?  If you could get a more close up photo of the polyps and base it would be easier to identify.

each one is a single polyp on a hard base LR. i'm going to try to get a better pic.

What I was expecting was a close up shot of them to see the base.  But I still believe they are star polyps.

i nned to use a different cam my digital is a old one and won't let me get any closer without it beeing blury.
i'm going to try my 35mm and see if i can get a better pic that way.

they look like some type of anthius(sp) or even a generic daisy polyp. if they are all interconnected by little tubes on the rock they are more likely some type of daisy polyp
