Topic: Jebao RW-4 or RW-8 Posted: February 03 2016 at 10:06pm |
Has any one used the Jebao RW pumps? What is your opinion on them. I'm looking at getting ether the RW-4 or the RW-8 for my 60 gallon cube 2ftx2ft. What do you think I should go for? here is a link to them on Amazon...

I was also considering picking up a rw-4 for my 24 gallon nano cube but wasn't sure if it would be to much for it, I am running a wp-10 now but will not buy another as I have had several go out on me.

I used (4) rw-20 for about 14 months. Only one out of the four is currently working. Like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. When they were running, they worked really well. They were a little noisy but moved a ton of water. I have read many reviews where people love them and have lasted years, perhaps I just got a bad patch.
The amount of flow really depends on what you are trying to keep. i have always gone larger on pumps as it less wear on them running at a low speed then a small pump maxed out.

I have a rw-4 in my 28 gallon nanocube. Its awesome. Moves the whole water column and I love the controllability. I've had it running for the past 14 months without any problems.
I'd go with the rw-8 for a 60 gallon cube. The rw-4 probably would not produce enough flow for a 60 cube. For comparison, my tank is around half of your tanks size and I have my rw-4 running at full speed. Let me know if you have any questions about my rw-4, I'm happy to help out!

I still have one of the old version that is still running but was considering the rw-4 if it goes out like the rest of them

Love mine, sold my WP40 and now run 2 RW8's side to side and 1 WP10 on the back to front, but I want a second WP10 in case anyone has a good used one for sale. The new RW series has far better controllability over the WP series.

I run an RW-4 on my 40b and it wasn't quite enough flow by itself. It has been running great for 18months. I've had to clean it once because it stopped turning due to coraline building up on it.
I run 2 RW-8's on my 90g and have them controlled by my Apex. Talk about some serious water column movement! Even if I had to replace a couple of them they were still much cheaper than other brands and have more than performed their expected task. Wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.
I think you would either want 2 RW-4's or an RW-8 for your 60. If you really like flow then go with 2 RW-8's and turn them down a little.
