 Topic: Main level floor load

Hey all,
I'm actually thinking of moving my reefer450 from my living room (cement foundation) to the main floor of my house while i re do my flooring. Does anyone have a tank set up on a floor with wood supports? I'm just trying to determine if it can handle this type of weight or not. Total tank volume is 116g plus equipment, stand, glass weight, sand etc. Its probably < 1500lbs if that helps at all.

I would not worry about it, as long as you are not putting it next to your 1 ton rock collection you should be fine. If it still concerns you, just make sure that the tank runs perpendicular to the floor joists but i don't think that is necessary with a 92 gallon tank.

That's quite the statement that it's okay! I've seen some houses that I would be scared to say that without more information.

do you know if it will it run parallel or perpendicular to your floor framing? Do you know what the floor joist are? Are you placing it near an exterrior wall?

I'm honestly not sure. My basement is finished so I can't look up and tell. I pulled up my two vent covers in hopes of seeing something but it's just air duct with no opening. Is there another way to tell?

The air duct runs parallel with (between) the floor joists. Use your hand to feel which way the duct runs out of the vent.
