Need some help. I recently got 3 birdsnest from the lfs, pink and green. I have placed them in different locations within the tank. The 2 green in the lower part of the tank and the pink towards the top. The 2 green are doing great polyps are always out. The pink looks great, great color polyps are always out and there is already noticeable growth just after 2 weeks being in the tank. My problem is the last 2 days I have noticed brown algae looking growing on the new tips of the pink. I tried blasting it off with a turkey baster but didn't help much. Is this caused from, too much light, not enough light, not enough flow or something else? Tank is a 6 gallon fluval edge with 27 watts of led lighting. Any ideas?

Is it algae or is the actual pigment of the birdsnest changing? Is it close to anything that could sting it?

This is more than a hobby; its a lifestyle.

No its brown algae only growing on the tips that are newly growing in. It is not next to anything.

I've had mine do the same it normally goes away on its own. I think it is just because they are stagnant without movement to clear the algae off.
