So I got a colony of Oregon blue tort from gentlemanbean on here about a month or more ago, it was very blue when I got it but in my tank it has turned more purple. I have it about halfway up in my tank right under my 400w halide. Is it getting too much light?
I will try to find a pic to show comparison.

It was very blue in my tank before it died.... but all that aside just keep an eye on it. I like to say that sps need a year in a tank to get there true color. They loose or change color so easily with stress of moving and different lights etc.

I was just reading an identical post on RC a few days ago. The original poster was saying how it was fading to a lighter blue about midway in his tank. The consensus amongst fellow Oregon tort owners was high light. Most were keeping them 6" or so below the water line, under varying degree of MH's from 150's to 400's. (Can't remember if there were any T5'ers that posted.)

Yea I read that last night. Well I pmed gentlemanbean and asked what lighting it was under for some reason I thought he had different lighting on his rsm but it is just the standard lights so mine is in way higher light.
