Does any else try to run an energy efficient tank?  

When I started my tank I knew I was likely to struggle with water temperature.  My house is does not like to stay cool in the summer and my a/c runs probably about 50% of the time just to maintain 76ºF  inside.   This was my main justification for starting off with LED lighting.  

My Apex shows that I max out at about 2.2amps when my lights peak, and about 1.2amp at night.  Overall I'm pretty happy with my setup.  If I keep my house at 76ºF, then my tank will maintain 77.5ºF without a fan.  This morning I turn my house a/c to 75ºF and I am watching my tank temp drop accordingly.

I'm all about energy efficiency. I have led lighting and vortech power heads. Even my main return pump and skimmer pumps are the siche pumps that are super efficient. Never taken amp readings but all the stuff is the most energy efficient stuff out. I'm thinking your a.c. might have issues. I'm a commercial hvac tech but have a huge background in residential hvac. A good company and a good tech should probably do a tuneup and evaluation of your system and see if something is wrong. Depending on where you live I do side work and would be willing to check it out for ya. It wouldn't cost that much

I forgot to mention my tank is a 75 gallon reef is running on a max of 265 watts.  

I was just really happy with my new setup since last summer, I had to run two clip on fans and keep the house at about 74*F and the water temp would barely stay under 80*F.
