I spoted a week ago a wierd buggish looking thing that I would almost sweat was a mormon cricket in my tank, except smaller and grey and about a half inch long.  Then again today I sawy a smaller one digging in teh sand against teh glass, this one was 4 mm long but was an agile little (6 or 8) legged bug moving dirt and digging out a spot.  Anyone have any ideas?

Probably gramaris shrimp. No big deal. I have TONS of them in my sump and you will also generally find them in filter pads. They make great fish snacks.

Here are a couple pictures of amphipods.   Are these guys what you are talking about?
