I have a question about Tyree's tactics. I understand how he got started with the Purple Monster and it sounds like he put a lot of effort into it and it sounds legitimate.
However, I also know that he has been known to contact fellow reefers and ask them if he can put his name on a coral that they have sold to him that they have purchased from who knows where. Then, he will proceed to sell them as 'his' corals for a huge price. I don't think the original owner gets anything out of it though (or the owner before that, or the ownder before that, etc, etc).
Never mind. I guess I don't have a question. It just doesn't seem right to me to put your name on something that wasn't yours in the first place.

Just so you know Blundell Buttons were collected by me.
Adam (but I don't have a problem with people naming their corals. technically Tyree was never the first owner of any of his corals, neither was ORA, nor Calfo)

That is why im not trying to sell them on the net just to local people who can get a fair price on a great coral. if you want to pay more for a Tyree name by all means do.

Good point Eric; I think this is agreat opportunity for anyone looking for a purple monster to get a hold of one, very reasonable price IMO.

I think I picked up a Blundell button the other day from the Aquarium. Not the hijack the thread or anything but it seems like my button doesn't like very strong light, anyone else made the same observation?

I think they are a little too rare and a little too pretty for you. More of a Coreyk type of coral.

Whoa... the famous blundell buttons are the cinnamon/Haition polyps?
I want some... who's got 'em
Where did you collect them Mr. Blundell?
Neat. They sell for $15 a polyp at Aquatica.

I've never heard anyone call them that before. If you do hear or see that please correct them and inform them of the proper name: Blundell Button Polyps.
I collected them in Richard's Bay, Bermuda.

oh, and you shouldn't have trouble getting them from club members

Maybe Tyree wants some ... Now they will be Tyree LE Buttons, not Blundell buttons.

I've got mine in very low light and it's doing quite well - it's always fully open all the time.
