Dead all dead! Or in poor shape. I have given up on growing acros for awhile. Maybe I will have better luck some other time. I have pocillopora that is doing fine and other corals are doing fine too but acros just don't want to grow in my tank.

Did you increase your waterflow?  My hyperflow 20 was too powerful for my setup and kept blowing the attachments, tubing, etc.  So, I removed the closed loop entirely.  I had a small return pump at the time and saw a remarkable reduction in polyp extension and even coral whitening.  I spoke with steve burton and bought a used  pump (Iwaki 70 equivalent) and saw huge changes to my tank.  (The return flow is split into two lines that go through sea swirls which oscilate the return 90 degrees).

I saw my acros color up, extend polyps and grow like mad!!!  I actually saw 1/4 -1/2 inch growth on three acros in 4-6 weeks!  Before with new lighting and keeping the water parameters where they should be I only was able to keep them alive.  I credit their turn around to increasing flow (correct flow = turbulent flow)

Good luck,

John

It's all about the flow!!
