Topic: Stocking Adam's 700 gal Posted: April 27 2012 at 1:35pm |
Received initial approval for a new 700 gal display tank this week.
If you could set up a 700 gal anyway you want, with whatever livestock you wanted, what do you think would really look cool.

Load up on SPS, some LPS, and softies, get awesome fish (tangs, angels, triggers, etc.-obviously still reef safe ones), get some awesome invertebrates (shrimp, urchins, unique crabs, CLAMS, etc.), and make sure there's a ladder on the side for scuba divers! Is this thing going to go in your house, or at the university? Either way we'd love to hear more about it!

On campus, but open to the public, so anyone can come see it.
It's ten feet long, three feet tall and wide

Everyone always says fill things with SPS, I am not a huge SPS fan so or me softies and LPS is where it's at. A few SPS would be nice but not a whole tank full, I like to see movement in coral. Large open brains, some clams...

How many viewing angles? Where are the overflows?
I'd do 3 maybe even 4 chromis!
I'd do a few coral islands with SPS on the top half of each island, lps on the lower, and acans and chalices tight around each base. The one anemone island with clowns. Lots and Lots of anthias, wrasses and a few giant Tangs. A few White Bar anthias would be really cool,(I had a chance to buy one a few days ago and was too indecisive and missed out) Do some unique inverts that you don't see as much like some staghorn crabs.

Indefinite hiatus from sw aquariums.
Once I have my glorious return I'll set back up the following. 50 Gallon rimless cube. 180 Gallons mixed reef paradise

I say pick some cool stuff from your unique and interesting fish slide show you give. Make it have some unique items as well!

I agree with Jackie. Movement with the LPS's or softies. Unique macro too.

Lots of schooling anthias, and colorful wrasses. Some large tangs like an Achilles would be sweet too. Also huge clams.
