Ok, so I'm new at this, but what are the little worms in my tank that live in the sand, or use the sand to make tubes.  They are mostly clear, have two really long tenticles and are pretty small....   Tenticles are about 1-1.5 in, and they are maybe 1-2 mm in diameter.  Just wondering what they are called.  They were eating the detrius so I'm not to worried about them.

Unfortunatley I don't have any pics of them, too small and my little digital camera isn't nice enough to zoom in.  I'll have to find a picture somewhere and see what it tells me.

You have the Spaghetti (Terebellid) worm. Here is a link that is all about them. They are a good thing for the sand bed.

Spaghetti worms usally have more than two tenticles I think.  Sounds like a Spionidae to me...  http://www.aquarium.net/1197/1197_1.shtml

You are correct it is Spionidae (sp-on-id-day). Good article.

I've seen the spionidae worms on some of my rock, but they are very very small there.  However they are very similar to what I have in the sand bed, just the ones in the sand bed are actually active and noticable.  I remember reading that article a while back, just wasn't sure if that's what they were.  Thanks for the help guys.
