I am TERRIBLE at taking pictures and doing build threads. This is probably the closest thing to a build thread you'll ever see. A whopping three pictures! If I get enough motivation I MAY take a picture of the sump and how that is set up. No promises though. Here is the tank I purchased. Yes that price tag says $250. Steal of a deal!
I cleaned it out, got it into my basement, then added gravel and water I decided to swap to a black background, forced Dennis to buff the tank, loaded the canopy with some lights, and here is where it's at now. TAH-DAH! Impressive build thread, I know. As a side note, I'm using a Pan-World external pump to power the return. It is disgustingly quiet. I swapped out a little giant pump for it. I recommend them to anyone considering an external pump.

I got me some good wood! I get my driftwood up Ogden canyon. It's just oak that I scrub before throwing in the tank. Works like a champ! I've never paid for a piece of driftwood in my life. If I remember to snap a picture of the sump I will post it. Cross your fingers!

Looks awesome. Hey I also get my wood from the canyons. In the late fall when the streams are low, there are all kinds of gnarly twisted roots hanging around in piles for easy picking. Thin pieces of Shale in Big Cottonwood Canyon provide awesome depth and vertical effect against the black/blue background. I love Oscars. Thanks for sharing.

Jees all that work and you left the towel on top of the canopy before taking the picture ;) it really is a gorgeous tank and it's quite fun watching the big fishies try to eat the little fishies. Our youngest was rooting on the Danios :)
Thanks for an awesome day John
