When dosing your tank with Phyto does a UV sterilizer kill it?

Depending on your gph passing through your uv sterilizer and the wattage of your uv sterilizer, almost anything passing through will be killed including algae, parasites, and many other things. However, many people believe that commercially available phyto is already dead even if it says its alive. Velvet green and Rotifers from our friends in South Jordan are more alive than other products. |

Mountain Corals. They've been owned by different members of our club over the past years. Current owner lives in South Jordan. They are the company that produces the green and rotifers found in all the local stores.

Don't know, but I doubt it. No need to, they are in every store. Acutally throught out the US I have other clubs and presidents asking me about this. Salt Lake is quite fortunate in that we happen to have quite a few resources here that no one else has (live brine, rotifers, golden pearls, BSD, salt plants, ...)

Ultraviolet Sterilizers are not recommended for Reef tanks because they kill indiscriminately all the food being produced by reef organisms. This live food is eaten by other reef organisms so why kill it?
A major source of zooplankton in a reef tank is Bristleworm larvae. So Bristleworms are good in all ways. They are part of the clean up crew and their spawn are food for filter feeders!

SSPargur,
Hobbyists cannot purchase directly from Mountain Corals. They sell to a distributor that sells it to all the local pet stores. Adam is right, most of the local stores carry it.
