Ok i have about a hundred pounds of dead Rock.
A couple of weeks ago i put all of it in a 55 gallon tank in live water that i change out of my 150 each week.
How long does this need to be in there before it can be considered seasoned base rock.There is no other live rock in the tank and there is 2 pumps that circulate the water and no light

Additionally FYI, anytime you want life to grow, it needs algae and light. Growing algae is the best way, by far, to take care of the pollution in our aquariums; allowing Live Rock to be "alive". The reason I'm saying this is because the old method of leaving rock to cure in an unlighted tub of moving saltwater is not as effective as placing it in an established tank where any pollution it produces is quickly eaten up. Second best is to grow Macroalgae with a good light on that tub of rock.
I have found that it is much better to start off with Utah Rock than to try to recover old dead and dry LR. Coralline Algae quickly grows on Utah rock whereas it may never grow on recovering old dead LR.
