Gotta love it. It's part of good biofiltration. Sponge can also be white, pink, blue, black and green, all in the same tank.

BTW, looks like some tuft algae as well as valonia(bubble) algae is also growing on that very nice piece of LR. A Tang or Rabbitfish, made hungry by little feeding, will keep that cropped.
