Metal stands have long been used in the commercial maintenance side of
the hobby. I cannot remember the names of the best fabricators but Dion
works with them often. Dion's
Richins Carpentry Awesome Aquarium Furniture makes the beautiful wood
faces to cover those functional powder coated metal stands. Visitors
always comment on the soft, rich, high class wood stands that Dion
builds.
There have been some unique metal stands/faces built over the
years. I had a local metal fabrication company make this brushed metal frame made for my dentists wall tank.
This unique metal and acrylic glowing stand was part of the MWRF Aquascaping Competition. In this pic the judge is saying that he had never seen anything like my aquascaping. Unfortunately, he had not yet seen the movie
