I had this happen before never killed any corals though, my guess is there is a different problem. As for the bubble part I would try to move the skimmer closer to the front of the sump. Also getting some more sponge or polyester pads to collect the bubbles would help out.

What size tank?
What type of skimmer (HOB or in - sump)?
Are the microbubble coming out of the skimmer discharge or is the collection cup for the skimmer actually overflowing with bubbles and crud?

So, water mixed with bubbles is actually leaking out of your skimmers cup?
Do you know what brand of skimmer it is?

OK, if the collection cup is actually overflowing you need to raise the cup inside the skimmer.
There should be a rubber gasket that goes around the collection cup.
You can simply move the rubber gasket down lower on the collection cup and this will set the cup higher inside the skimmer.
The column of bubbles inside the collection cup cone should be steady about half way up that cone or even a little less.
Now, if your complaint is too may bubbles actually coming out of the skimmer discharge itself - where water leaves the skimmer and goes back into the tank, NOT out of the cup on top of the skimmer - then take a sponge and place it in the flow of the discharge water, to help absorb some of those bubbles...
