You should talk to Brad Syphus aka Tileman. He runs on sulfur denitrator on his tank. I'm sure he'll let you stop by and see it, and show you how he has his installed.

all i know they work by going thru some kind of pellet where there is no oxygen where the bacteria lives in, it does have to cycle before you can start seeing any results, i read that if the flow increase all of the sudden it can cause a mass die off on the denitrying bacteria cause ammonia spikes
