I finally found a place to order my 15g i wanted, so i did it. While i am waiting for it to arrive, I thought i'd ask if it is worth getting a sump for the 15G or if that is a bit excessive as i could use HOB things easily.

Any thoughts or input would be great!

Thanks!

I think a sump is a great idea. I hate seeing equipment in the tank.

I use HOB instead of a sump on my 10 gallon its really on your desire to get a sump, if you can afford a sump then i would say yes.

I saw pictures of a person setting up a 10 gallon sump for a 2.5 gallon tank

Bulk head, drilling, plumbing, 10gal tank for sump, should be no more than $50.

A sump also = additional water volume

Which is almost always a good thing; especially on smaller systems

Small one. You could probably get away with using something cheap like a Maxijet for a pump. Skimmer.... a really small one or a HOB that you can put on the sump.

Fishoutawater  will assist you in your sump needs... He is the man!

I have a 15G tank, stand combo for sale if you havent gotten a stand yet. You could always use my 15 as your sump, and the new one as the display. My stand has room for up to a 20 gallon up top, and down below.
