So my 15G reef was super packed, so I decided I needed a bigger tank. My Condo complex doesn't allow tanks, so I couldnt go too big without causing a big deal (I had half-permission to do a "small" tank, haha)

So I picked up Eva's old 30 from Sina, and here is the tank progress over the last 12 days.

August 10th tank cleaned up and ready to fill.

Tank in place,  starting to fill

Utah Sand in, what a mess

Inhabitants of 15G moved over

Water finally clean, everything moved in

More corals in, 10K lighting

20K lighting

Corals starting to adjust to change

10K T-5 lighting and 20K Halide

August 22nd-  Corals not open all the way but starting to look great

HUGE THANKS TO RIOREEFER FOR THE FRAGS!!!! You rock Rich!

Two month update!

Got rid of alot of stuff, then started adding new. The tank has changed alot, but now things are small and need to grow out.

here is the tank with the 10K T5

And now under the 20K halides (that look more like 14K)

And a better shot of some frags

Yes mike, A single 30" T5 10K, and a 150W MH 20 K.

I plan to do the exact opposite when it is time to change bulbs. I leave the T5 on approx 4-5 hours a day, and the MH only 3-4... Conserving electricity.

Sometimes the tank sees both lights, but that is rare.

Working on getting a sump plumbed in somehow, you can see tat my stand has no room for a sump, but I do need something better than my homebrew HOB fuge.

This is my attempt at a VERY low budget, Successful reef.  I would love to go high dollar and do it right but that is not in the cards for me, I have been unemployed for 4 months now.

it looks good, I have a 29 as well and I really like how you've set up the the rock and coral.  Are you going to add any fish?
